158pp, (5 x 7.5 inches), illustrations, index. Ex-Library with the usual pocket, stamping and library markings. Also rebound by the library in blue pebbled cloth with gilt spine title and Dewey number. Several pages have blue ink smudges, and/or short tears. Page one has a large tear which has been tape mended. Still quite readable. Striking orange and black "illustrations from cut-out work by pupils in the author's fourth grade in the Bakerfield, California school." (from the title page). A chapter book for younger readers.

The black, white, and orange wood cut illustrations throughout are done by the pupil's in the author's 4t grade class in Bakersfield CA. 158 pages with index. Size: 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall 2nd Printing.
