Also a couple of chips and creases. Inside the copyright page has a section of the dedication page attached to it where the pages were torn apart rather than carefully opened. Otherwise clean and VG. Michael Fraenkel (1896-1957) Michael Fraenkel was born in Kopul, Lithuania, in 1896 and immigrated to New York City with his parents in 1903. He graduated from the City College of New York, and moved to Paris in 1926 to write. He formed a publishing company in Paris with Walter Lowenfels called Carrefour Press. While in Paris, he also befriended Henry Miller and is thought to have been an early yet important influence on Miller.
