Softcover. Condition: New. Reprint. Language: English. Approximately 518 pages. English: Print-on-demand reprint. Original edition : 1594. Text in English. This controversial treatise, originally published in 1594, examines the succession to the English throne, advocating for the claims of the Infanta of Spain over those of King James. The work is divided into two parts: the first presents a legal argument on the primacy of bloodlines, while the second analyzes the specific claims of various pretenders. The text includes a genealogical chart of English monarchs from the Norman Conquest to the late 16th century, clarifying the succession debate. Attributed to Robert Parsons (under the pseudonym R. Doleman), the work was likely co-authored by William Allen and Francis Englefield, both prominent figures in the English Catholic resistance. The book was suppressed by the English authorities, and its possession was deemed treasonous. Book images are non-contractual.
