Hardcover. Condition: Good. Published in London in 1766, this is an early English edition of The Tragedies of Sophocles translated into English, in two volumes, here bound together in one, in a later cloth binding. 8 inches tall approx., 232 pages & 318 pages CONDITION The cloth binding is lightly marked and rubbed, internally old pencil inscription to front endpaper, light browning to pages else in nice condition.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 2 vols, full calf, spine ends lacquered, 1 frp, vol 1 cover detached and present, vol 2 cover detaching but complete, requires rebinding but a lovely set worth preserving, revised and corrected edition, f/o bps.

Full leather. Condition: Good. Initially published as a 2 volume set in 1785, a third volume was published in 1787. Vol 1 - xxxviii, [ii], 349, [1] pages. Vol 2 - vii, [i], 383, [1] pages. Vol 3 - ix, [iii], 367, [1] pages. ESTC T104781 +T115862. In old full leather, joints are split but boards are holding. Leather is worn at the edges and spines. Pages are spotted throughout, more heavily in volume 1. 4 pages in volume 1 are coming loose and are worn at the edges where they overlap the adjoining pages. End papers detaching. Book.

Quarter leather binding with red and green title labels, five raised bands and marbled paper covered boards, new end papers, pages tanned but generally clean. Provenance: no inscriptions or bookplates. Approximately 11 inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition dulled gilt titles and dulled decoration to clean and sound spine.
