Il diario viene pubblicato, per rispettarne l originalità e mantenere il sapore bellico , nello stesso carattere dattilografico in cui venne scritto dal giovane Tenente. Pensate come può essere crudele il destino, Storchi sopravvissuto a decine di combattimenti, sfiorato da centinaio di pallottole, morì in un incidente motociclistico subito dopo la conclusione del conflitto. Fine che lo accomuna all Asso Franco Bordoni Bisleri e diversi experten della Luftwaffe, Bar, Barkhorn, Schnaufer. Quale editore di tutte queste opere devo dire che per me è una grande gioia tirar fuori dal chiuso di un cassetto questi diari e diffonderli tra le schiere degli appassionati, evitando così che quei mesi, giorni eroici, vissuti dai protagonisti vadano dimenticati.
