The German-American photographer F…rank Eugene (1865-1936) is regarded internationally as one of the most innovative art photographers of the period prior to the first World War. He studied painting under Wilhelm von Diez at the Munich Academy of Art and was then active as a portrait painter of famous actors and musicians. He first came to the attention of a wider public as a photographer in 1899 on the occasion of a solo exhibition in the New York Camera Club. As a founder-member of the Photo-Secession, his works were included in almost all the important exhibitions in North America and Europe organized by that association. His method of manipulating his negatives by etching and drawing on them attracted particular attention and gained him the name of a painter-photographer. Ja, es löst eine Gänsehaut aus, wenn man die Stallgasse betritt und das wohlige Erkennungsschnauben eines Pferdes vernimmt. Ja, es ist ein Ohrenschmaus, wenn ein Singvogel seine…Arien von sich gibt. Und das perfekt beleuchtete Aquarium stellt in den Abendstunden jedes Programm der mittlerweile sehr großflächigen Flimmerkisten über Stunden in den Schatten. Es ist einfach etwas Besonderes, mit Tieren zu leben, die sich in unseren Breitengraden nicht zum Verzehr eignen, sondern die Familienmitgliedsstatus erreicht haben. Die Gattung Hund ist dabei natürlich etwas ganz Besonderes, denn sie vereint viele der geschätzten Attribute auf sich. Verständlicher Weise, denn wer es so lange in seiner Entwicklungsgeschichte mit Menschen ausgehalten hat, der weiß wie es läuft.Nun, und bei Dackeln kann es keine zwei Meinungen geben. So objektiv bin ich selbstverständlich als bekennender Liebhaber des Kurzbeiners, und der geneigte Leser wird es mir nachsehen - Dackel sind natürlich die Besten!Der legendäre Blick, selbst wenn andere Tiere ebenfalls hypnotisch dreinschauen können, die charakteristische Körperform, die man einer Giraffe natürlich auch nicht absprechen kann, der Kultstatus, ob sinnvoll erachtet oder nicht, den die kurzläufigen Bauhunde sich vom Serienheld bis zum Maskottchen erworben haben. Der Dackel strahlt förmlich Freundlichkeit, strahlt Gelassenheit aus. Ist aber ebenso mutig, gewandt und hat im positivsten Sinne seinen eigenen Kopf - er hat Selbstbewusstsein. So lang sein Körper auch ist, so lange gibt es ihn auch schon. Mehr als 2000 Jahre sollen seine Vorfahren alt sein. Die Kelten mochten diese Dackel-Vorfahren, die Römer auch. Vom Mittelalter bis zur Neuzeit, der Dackel, Teckel oder Dachshund war stetiger Begleiter, fand sogar Einzug in alte Handschriften.Man kann Vieles mit einem solchen universell verwendbaren Begleiter mit vier kurzen Beinen erleben, ungeachtet wie weit sein Stammbaum reicht. Inzwischen durften auch wir mit solch einem Exemplar erleben, wie sich der familiäre Horizont erweitert. Nichts was er nicht mitgemacht hätte, nichts was er abgelehnt hätte, keine Sekunde in der wir unsere Entscheidung bereut hätten, es ist so einfach wie es sich liest - ein Dackel geht eben immer! 120 pp. Deutsch.
