    Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 3rd Edition. First issued in 1971, this 3rd edition is dated 1976. Colour illustrated card wallet with series index maps to the back 20x27cm containing a double-sided sheet 74x79cm, and accompanying book in printed wraps with blue cloth spine 19x26cm, 84, (1)pp including 16pp of b/w photos. Wallet very good, map and booklet fine. The recto features the main map on a scale of 1:6,000,000. The image centres on the Arabian Peninsula, showing the undefined nature of many of its boundaries. Two inset maps with the same coverage as the main map show economic activities (1:18,000,000) and political divisions (1:36,000.000). The verso is densely packed with information, including 6 city plans on varying scales (Istanbul, Ankara, Tehran, Baghdad, Jerusalem Kuds, Cairo); 5 maps (air routes, land use, the Suez Canal, demographics with data table on life expectancy, birth and death rates etc, climate with accompanying table and graphs), table on administration, and recommended reading. The book contains an introduction on history up to the aftermath of the 1973 War and culture, country sections (Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Israel, both Yemens, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Cyprus, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Syria, Turkey), photos, and index.
