Aus der traditionellen Technik der Enkaustik entwickelte Lo Giudice sein eigenes Vorgehen, wobei das Bild aus mehreren Wachsschichten besteht. Nach einem Umdruckverfahren werden die Farbpigmente aufwändig in das heiße Wachs eingebrannt. Die bildliche Darstellung erscheint in einem diffusen Licht, wirkt wie von einem Schleier überzogen und zugleich wie unter der dicken Wachsschicht versiegelt. Die Wachsbilder von Patrick Lo Giudice basieren auf eigenen Fotografien und solchen, die der Künstler in Archiven, Büchern oder auf Flohmärkten findet. Zu den Motiven zählen Landschaften und Portraits ebenso wie ein Zyklus über Afrika oder die italienische Mafia. …

Die in Biel lebende, 1947 in Zürich geborene Béatrice Gysin sucht in ihren Arbeiten keine Sicherheiten. Es ist etwas Tastendes und Prüfendes um ihre Werke, die mal abstrakt, mal gegenständlich sein können.
