Translated by Poholi according to Barbier. The Swedish original was published in Stockholm in 1752. Hastfer's books on shepherding were also translated into Danish, German and Icelandic. He went to Iceland on a study tour sponsored by the Danish government and he later received a pension from Denmark for his contributions to the study of shepherding.
