It was the greatest hit by Frederic Norton (18691946), a light musical singer and composer. It was written, produced and directed by Oscar Asche, and firs…t staged at His Majesty's Theatre, London, in 1916, where it ran for 5 years and 2,238 performances, then a record. This selection of 16 extracts from the score, including the stirring 'The Robber's Chorus', was arranged for pianoforte by Percy E Fletcher. Loose-leaved 12-page sheet music in overall good condition, a little spotted on front and back covers.
