The anthology of poetry, short fiction, essays and illustrations was designed to attract young women. In the original publisher's cloth binding with gilt. Externally, very smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's book plate to the first free endpaper. Henry Woodd Nevinson (1856-1941) was a British campaigning journalist. He was known for his reporting on the Second Boer War, and slavery in Angola in 19041905. In Nancy Cunard's pamphlet Authors Take Sides on the Spanish War, Nevison gave his support to the Spanish Republicans . He married Margaret Wynne Jones (Margaret Nevinson); the artist Christopher Nevinson was their son. Shortly after her death in 1933, Henry married his long-time friend and lover, fellow suffragist, Evelyn Sharp.
