Von 1906 bis 1917 musste er im Exil leben, hauptsächlich in Finnland, Deutschland und Paris, bevor er nach Estland zurückkehrte. Tuglas wurde einer der führenden literarischen Figuren Estlands. Er gehörte der Gruppe "Junges Estland" (Noor-Eesti, gegründet 1905) an. Er schrieb in einer Mischung aus Realismus und romantischem Lebensgefühl (vgl. Wikipedia).…
