First edition. Charming, beautifully illustrated children's book by the Toepperwein's of Boerne, Texas. Established in 1945, the Highland press printed several books for children authored by Fritz and illustrated by Emile. The books were printed letterpress with block illustrations, gathered, sewn, and bound by hand. Most subjects were historical and cultural in nature, and well-researched from factual sources, such as the present example. OCLC cites holdings in 8 institutions. 22x14cm, 32pp. Vignette illustrations throughout by Emilie, and some, including the full page frontis, in two colors.
