Photo-illustrated title page. Poignant work in which Karl Brauer, a political prisoner under the Nazis, relates his own experiences during his three years and nine months imprisonment in Buchenwald. This volume is illustrated throughout with 18 in-text photogravures depicting emaciated prisoners, crematory ovens showing incinerated corpses, bodies of dead prisoners piled up, and various aspects of the death camp. Moderate rubbing and sunning along edges of wrappers, small chips at lower right corner of front cover, minor soiling and small chips and closed tears along spine. Text in German. Wrappers in overall good, interior in good+ condition.
