lacks the dustjacket. Condition: Good. First Edition. Excellent memorial book to President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. First Edition published about a year after JFK's assassination in 1963. Inscribed by the author, Sy Frolick to a member of Pres. Kennedy's Cabinet, Abraham A. Ribicoff. "Abraham A. Ribicoff was born on April 9, 1910, in New Britain, Connecticut. In 1933, he received his LL.B. degree from the University of Chicago Law School. He then returned to Connecticut to work as a lawyer, and in 1938 he was elected to the state's General Assembly. For the next several years, he first served as a municipal judge in Hartford (1942-1943) then as a U.S. congressman (1949-1953). In 1954, Ribicoff was elected governor of Connecticut, a position he resigned in 1961 to become the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare in the Kennedy administration. He served in this capacity until 1962 and in 1963, he became a US senator. In 1981, he retired from the Senate and took a position as special counsel to the New York law firm of Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler. Mr. Ribicoff died on February 22, 1988, at age of 87.
