Hardcover. Condition: Fair-Good. No Jacket. Reprint. Collection of 6 of the most popular of the original tales of Uncle Remus from the 1880s, newly edited by the author's wife for this 1934 edition, maintaining the charming original illustrations by A. B. Frost. Unpaginated, in 40 pages, this hardcover has yellow paper over quarter light green cloth-covered boards with a colorful illustration to front. Condition is just Fair-Good, downgraded primarily due to heavy external rubbing, splitting of cloth at spine, scattered soil. Missing 1.5" of cloth from lower spine. Corners heavily rubbed, down to boards. Stitched binding is secure, but both hinges starting or already split. BUT the interior drawings are superb: colored ones appear both half- & full-paged, & the pen-&-ink ones are crisp. Pages moderately tanned, but supple & unmarked save for the occasional spot & 2 old gift inscriptions dated 1936 & 1938 in pen to ffep; one page has a short unclosed tear to bottom edge. No DJ. Our photos depict the Ex act book you will receive from us, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, Weekends & holidays ship very next business day. Frost, A. B. (illustrator).
