Tall folio; 15 1/4 x 11 1/2", 27pp. including index of prints; 29 in text illustrations & 80 separate plates in black & white of Gavarni lithos. (German captions). Tan linen with title printed in rust ink on spine, front cover & gray toned repro. of litho.( Woman Dancer), ribbon. Cloth shows some age tanning, minor edge wear to corners, page margins show small amount of tanning near edges. Text & plates generally fine, binding considering type of cloth & weight of book (5 1/2 lbs.) can be considered VG-NF. A scarce Fuchs publication. Gavarni's lithos. have not reprinted as often as Daumier's. Gavarni's images (not all are p-c) are a bit more risque; & his lithos. much more so than "Le Diable a Paris" (see "Les Maitres Humoristes" Gavarni series for a few). Satirical & often erotic. (German text).
