    A very good illuminated address. 16.0" x 18.0". Address to Mr. Albert Bird, George Inn, Woodhouse. From the Management of Wm. Stones Ltd. The George Inn, 11 Market St, Woodhouse, Sheffield S13 7PD: A medieval Inn belied by modern appearance and Hanoverian sign board. Some authorities state it was named for George, Duke of Clarence. There will be an extra charge to send this heavy item overseas. VG.** Family history records are confusing, but seem to point to: Albert Bird was born on 17 August 1867 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, his father, Thomas, was 30 and his mother, Caroline, was 33. He married Sarah Hawkins in 1895 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire. He died in April 1927 in Worcester, Worcestershire, at the age of 59. When he retired from Cricket, he was first publican of The George Inn, 11 Market St, Woodhouse, Sheffield. After 1914 he then moved to; The Fountain Inn , Angel Street, Worcester, Worcestershire *** Possibly Albert Bird (17 August 1867 16 June 1927) was an English cricketer: a right-arm off-break bowler and lower-order right-handed batsman who played for Worcestershire for the first ten years of their existence as a first-class county." - See Wikipedia.
