In original printed dust jacket. = Perhaps the last monograph on the surprisingly diverse Romanian herpetofauna. The drawings and photos are excellent. Starts with a general introduction and contains detailed descriptions, with distribution maps, etc. Of many species, several specimens are illustrated, to show variability. Authors are the Romanian herpetologists Ion Eduard Fuhn (1916-1987) and Stefan Vancea (1910-1997). Printed errata leaf bound in rear. Dust jacket chipped; title page with stamp, and toned, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Rare.
