Como medidas preventivas, se evitará el contacto con los alérgenos y se hará ejercicio físico adecuado, junto a la medicación prescrita, pero si a pesar de esto se desencadena un ataque asmático (…crisis asmática), se utilizarán broncodilatadores por inhalación o por vía oral. Como no siempre la mejoría de la respiración es inmediata, una de las maneras de aliviar la disnea es con la respiración abdominal. Pero ante un ataque repentino, aunque se diga que hagan la respiración abdominal, no es posible realizarla ni aun siendo adultos. También es angustioso estar pendiente de los ataques durante toda la vida. Al ver esta angustiosa situación, la Sra. Fukuda, aprovechando su experiencia en el campo de la música, junto con el desaparecido Dr. Koji Tateno (Jefe del departamentode Pediatría del Centro Oncológico del Hospital Tomou, municipio de Gunma), empezaron la tarea de hacer Musicoterapia para los enfermos asmáticos. Yo también colaboré en el inicio de ese trabajo. Comenzaron con uno de los métodos, creo recordar que era ôla canción prolongadaö. Después, la Sra. Fukuda obtuvo el Título de Musicoterapia. Empezó a estudiar e investigar con la Musicoterapia y publicó sus investigaciones a nivel nacional e internacional. Este libro es el resultado de todo el trabajo y experiencias y mi mayor deseo es poder ayudar a esos niños que tanto sufren con esta enfermedad. ôMusicoterapia para los asmáticosö, todavía no está incluida en las directrices del Asma. La Musicoterapia es una ayuda muy importante para los asmáticos, pero todavía está en los inicios.
