Like his collection of papers and memoirs of his physico-chemical researches on surface phenomena (1844), the present work by the Venice physician, Ambrogio Fusinieri (1773-1853), was published at his own expense (see colophon). Here the research subjects are more varied - light, heat, electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetism. C. B. Boyer in his book on the rainbow notes Fusinieri's suggestion in 1797 of a "intestine motion" for light. Ronalds lists many of Fusinieri's publications, including this one at page 188, however the other usual electrical collections are lacking his works.
