Bütten (Siebmuster). Blatt leicht gebräunt, min. knittrig, ursprüngl. vertikal gefaltet. Leichtere Alters- u. Gebrauchsspuren. Gesamthaft weitestgehend sauberes, recht gutes Exemplar. - - Sujet: über Wolken, vor Feuerkranz mit krönendem IHS-Monogramm auf Podest Herz mit Dornenkrone, Flamme und Kreuz in Tabernakel-artiger Präsentation, seitlich und unten mit Puttoköpfen an Akanthus - Die 4-zeilige Huldigung (nicht eruierbar) zum Herz Jesu ist in Kopf- bzw. Fusspartie geteilt, wobei letztere womöglich mit dem Stichel nachbearbeitet wurde. - Die 'Formul' deutet auf den Gebrauch einer Herz Jesu-Bruderschaft : "Allgemeine Formul oder Act einer dem göttlichen Herzen Jesu zugethanen und verschriebenen Seele, daß ist, aller Brüder und Schwestern, welche bei dem Eintritt in diese liebsvolle [sic] Bruderschaft mit herzbrennendem Eifer solle vorgenommen, und nachgehends zum öftern geübet werden." (etc.) - Ausser dass es sich offenbar entweder um eine gemischt-geschlechtliche, oder wenigstens in zwei Sektionen gegliederte Bruderschaft gehandelt haben muss, lässt sich aus dem mystisch-aszetischen Text kein Hinweis auf die fragliche Gemeinschaft ableiten. - P. R. Henggeler weist für den Zentral- u. Innerschweizer Raum darauf hin, dass die "Herz Jesu-Bruderschaften aus älterer Zeit [.] bei uns nicht sehr zahlreich" sind (Die kirchlichen Bruderschaften, Einsiedeln 1955, p. 25), und zählt Einsiedeln nicht direkt dazu. Seine Ausführungen zu den Bruderschaften als kirchliche Vereinigungen lassen darauf schliessen, dass der Zugang relativ offen war (p. 9 ff.), so dass 'aller Brüder und Schwestern' kein besonderes Kriterium darstellt. - Benziger erwähnt einen Einsiedler Druck u.d.T. 'Regel und Satzung für die Bruderschaft [.] der allerheiligsten Herzen Jesu und Mariä, welche 1749 zu Wallenstadt aufgerichtet' (Buchgewerbe, p. 274, Nr. 568), sowie von 1754 'Himmlischer Ausfluß der Demuth aus dem göttlichen Gnaden-Meer des Hertzens Jesu' mit 1 Kupfer (p. 275, Nr. 621). Danach erscheint erst 1762 wieder ein weniger in Frage kommendes 'Bruderschaftsbüchlein vom h. Sakrament des Altars für Rapperswil' mit 1 Kupfer (p. 278, Nr. 716). -- Franz Xaver Schönbächler, geb. 1719 in Einsiedeln, Kupferstecher, fertigte Heiligenbilder, Titelblätter u. Ansichten aus der Zentralschweiz (SIKART). P. R. Henggeler erwähnt ihn als Stecher eines grossen Thesenblattes für Wettingen 1754 in Schabkunst (Schweizerische Thesenblätter. In: Zschr. f. schweiz. Archäol. u. Kunstgesch., 10/1948-49, H. 1-2, p. 80 u. 86). Schönbächler muss zu einem unbekannten Zeitpunkt ins Ausland gezogen sein, wo er auch verstarb: "In Einsiedeln hat man von seinem Tode keine Kenntnis erhalten" (J.
