A work that delves into the cultural, social, and historical identity of Kyrgyzstan and its people. The book explores Kyrgyz traditions, national symbols, and the process of nation-building in the post-Soviet era, integrating both ethnographic insights and reflections on the homeland's modern challenges. Imanaliev?s work reflects on themes such as the epic of Manas, national heroes, and the evolving narratives that shape Kyrgyzstan's self-understanding in contemporary times. It provides commentary on how political and social elites, along with broader society, mobilize history and tradition as tools for fostering national unity and pride. The book serves as both a celebration of Kyrgyz identity and an analysis of its complexities in a rapidly changing world.
