Describes around 75 birds that, when the book was first published in 1922, would have been seen regularly in London. Finn (1868-1932) was a widely travelled and experienced ornithologist, who wrote a significant number of birding books. Black and white photographs of many of the birds are interspersed with the text. Covers a little marked; spine discoloured and bumped at top with some nicks; foxing at end papers, with marks to rear free end paper; some spotting marks on text pages though internally in generally good condition; heavy foxing marks along top edge of text block.

Condition: Good. 1908. 155 pages. No dust jacket. Green pictorial cloth. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

"A great many persons first become interested in the art of taxidermy when they come across some rather beautiful and uncommon bird lying dead by the roadside." A concise and straightforward introduction to taxidermy for the curious amateur. This booklet is undated. However, the firm's phone number is 4347, and the rear cover advertises Ford's 1963 book, Practical Entomology, at 17s. 6d. net. .
