A rather odd volume of three stories and… two poems with the unifying thread being the ancient Hebrew experiences in ancient Egypt, Palestine and Syria. In the foreword, the author states that volume is "indebted to three distinct [manuscripts]." an archaic one in the St. Petersburg Library, a Sigla manuscript in the Egyptian archives, and a Samaritan chroncle written around 1000 BC. He dedicates the book to Palestine's future as well as to the then-current unrest in Ireland. Very uncommon in first edition.
