Contains approximately 100 leaves of monochrome photographic reproductions (halftones) printed on both sides. The first illustration is of Circular Quay Sydney The Ferry Traffic Centre, there are hundreds of photographs from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and Tasmania Australia, 8 large folding panoramic views. Three of the panoramas have ragged edges having not been folded back correctly, rubbing to the edges of the boards and spine ends, the rear end paper and tears to the edges, the front end paper and paste down has prolific pencil notes. Oblong octavo (143 × 230 mm), comprising an introductory leaf, a leaf of descriptive captions, and 15 leaves of plates (all printed rectos only) containing a total of 79 images. Flush-cut quarter cloth and decorated card covers printed in gold and light and dark blue; covers lightly marked, with a few small light pink stains to the front cover; notwithstanding, an excellent copy. All plate leaves depict one or more illustrations from photographs, against a watercolour pictorial background with calligraphic titles. There is only one full-page plate proper. Trove records copies in four institutions, as well as what appear to be later editions: 'Gall's Glimpses of Adelaide and South Australia: 80 Viewlets' (circa 1902), and 'Gall's Glimpses of Adelaide and South Australia: 100 Viewlets' (circa 1904). Ferguson 9808 (described as having '15 plates').
