Undated. Likely between 1871 and 1903 when the company changed it's name and location. The book is bound in green cloth with title and Lincoln portrait stamped in gilt on the front cover. Covers are well worn. Name of previous owner dated Dec, 1903 on the front free endpaper. A previous owner has left a straight pin pierced through the front free endpaper. Beginning on the fifth page through page 23 a small brown spot, off-setting from the binding glue can be seen in the middle of the gutters. There is foxing here and there in the book and text is generally clean and unmarked. Pages are age-tanned. Includes a frontis portrait of Lincoln on glossy white paper taken in Springfield, Illinois in 1861, labeled " One of the best" 6"x 4.25" Please see all images.

Gallaher, copyright 1898, Hardcover, 117 pages, in Good Used Condition (GUC) The book is in very good condition after over 125 years, but it does have some issues. A previous owner wrote their name in ink on the front flyleaf. The binding has split along the title page and it has separated almost completely from the spine. There are some brown spots/staining on the inside front cover, front flyleaf, frontispiece, and title page as well as stains/discoloration on the covers. The edges have browned a bit. However, the gilt lettering on the front cover is still fairly bright, the corners have been only mildly bumped, there is very little shelf wear, and there are no loose or missing pages. Almost 160 years after his death, historians, scholars and hobbyists are still fascinated with Abraham Lincoln's life. Stories in this slim volume include "Lincoln's Great Strength As A Boy," "How Lincoln Became Known as 'Honest Abe'," "Lincoln As A Lawyer," "Lincoln Shrewdly Traps Douglas," "Lincoln's Famous Gettysburg Address," "The Dandy, The Bugs And The President," and "Lincoln's Grief Over The Defeat Of The Union Army." A must-have for all fans and admirers of "The Great Emancipator."
