First editions (however, the first two books are second impressions). Signed by the illustrator. Hardcovers. Some light foxing on the top edges and on a couple fore-edges, otherwise very good in very good dustjackets (all illustrated by Foreman), sterling prices unclipped, except on the first title. A lovely set (designed by Enid Fairhead) of a quartet which is already a 20th Century children's classic. Each book is illustrated evocatively with b/w etchings by Michael Foreman, and moreover he's signed EACH volume on the title-page, under his printed name.
