Hand-bound by Robyn Tait, who has signed and inscribed the verso of the title in pencil 'For Alec'. This book of verse is dedicated in the foreword to Alec Bolton (1926-1996), whose Brindabella Press was to have been its original publisher. 'I see this book as the last publication of the Brindabella Press' (Lynn Hard). Apparently, Rosemary Dobson didn't. Signed by Author(s).

Unlettered black cloth with a small tinted illustration printed on paper mounted on the front cover; cloth lightly marked; an excellent copy (originally in a Solander box, no longer present). The six-page introduction is by Sasha Grishin. The statement of limitation states 'The edition consists of 120 copies signed and numbered by the artist. 100 copies are numbered 1-100 and 20 artist's proof copies numbered A.P. 1-20 are "hors commerce"'. This copy is unsigned and unnumbered, but loosely inserted in it are two of the three signed aquatints issued with the book. The prints, 'Immortal Poet' and 'Sleeping Poet', are captioned, signed and editioned (A/P XI) in pencil in the bottom margin; 'Tragic Poet' is not present. The half-title is inscribed and signed in ink by the artist ('Dear Paul | for being there from the beginning | with love Garry'); this is written above and below a large hand-drawn illustration. Provenance: Paul Greenaway, Australian gallerist (Gagprojects, based in Adelaide). Signed.
