Influenced by Surrealism and Giorgio de Chirico in particular, Larraz?s w…ork features Cuban cultural imagery such as bull fights, white linen suits, and maritime scenes. Though he often alludes to the corruption of political and social power, the cropped compositions and obscured faces render the narratives of his paintings ambiguous. In Above Suspicion (2007), a sinister-looking woman in sunglasses?who appears in many of Larraz?s paintings?is walking towards a black limousine surrounded by bodyguards and journalists, leaving the interpretation of this scene up for debate. Born on March 12, 1944 in Havana, Cuba, Larraz left for Miami in 1961 and traveled on to New York, where he studied with notable illustrators such as David Levine. His work is included in collections around the world, such as the Museo de Monterrey in Mexico, the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and The Museo de Arte Moderno in Bogota. He lives and works in Miami, FL.". Regarded as one of the most successful gallery owners in the United States and Latin America, Lebanese-born and Dominican-raised art collector Gary Nader started his art career as the Director of Nader Gallery of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 1981, then moved to the United States to set up his own Gary Nader art center gallery specializing in Latin American Art in Miami in 1985, which has been regarded as one of the most entrepreneurial and successful galleries in the world over decades. Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (actually this Preliminary Draft precedes the First Edition. The book was published by Grossman Publishers in 1973. The title was 'Bitter wages: Ralph Nader's study group report on disease and injury on the job'. Once listed, this will be the only copy of the Prelimina…ry Draft for sale anywhere on the Internet. As you can see from the photographs, it is spiral-bound. The binding is very solid and secure. All of the spirals are in place and without issue. This draft is very thick and while the pages are numbered, the numbering begins at 1 with each new chapter. There are 10 chapters. The 10th is titled Conclusions And Recommendations. There are a great many footnotes throughout the draft and there are many pages of the related endnotes after the end of the 10th chapter, ie. Chapter One---Notes, Chapter Two--Notes, etc. The covers are very clean. There is a tiny tear off the bottom edge of the front. There is also some color fading on the front next to the spiral spine. On the back cover there are a few small creases and a long vertical crease at its center. The pages are in excellent condition. They are also very clean. I didn't see any soiling. No one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. And there aren't any attachments or markings. A truly unique item.
