This unit (1833-1919) was involved in the war with Mexico and was in numerous Indian campaigns from Oregon, Texas and New Mexico with the Apaches to the Northern Plains against the Nez Perce. Also gives accounts of the Modoc War and the capture of Captain Jack, Poston Charlie and Scarfaced Charlie. Provides a year by year accounting of the campaigns including numbers of soldiers and Indians killed. The remaining portion of the book is a photographic listing of each troop accompanied by rosters.
