Five original sketches by Roberto Gavioli, co-founder of Gamma Film, for "The Night the Animals Talked," a half-hour animated television special which aired on ABC in December 1970. Produced by Pablo Zavala and Sheldon Riss, with music and lyrics by the Academy Award-winning team of Sammy Cohn and Jule Styne, the film recreated that wonder-filled night two thousand years ago when legend had it that animals first talked. The film subsequently aired in December 1971, 1972, 1973, 1977, and 1979. Backdrop oil sketches, each measuring 16 x 22 inches, include: 1) The outside view of Bethlehem 2) An overall view of Bethlehem 3) The road leading to Bethlehem 4) The stable in Bethlehem 5) The inn and the stable in Bethlehem; each illustration bears a Gamma Film stamp.
