Hardcover. Condition: Near fine. Limited edition. 12mo. (44) pp. Vellum spine, paper over boards, printed label on the upper board. Finely printed letterpress on Van Gelder handmade paper in a numbered editioni of 250 copies. This is number 82. Title page and the following page are hand colored. Some spotting to the first few pages but a very good copy. According to the colophon this is a translation out of the Old Dutch 'for the Pageant'. A handwritten note on the front pastedown reads: "This is the original tale from which the "Miracle" was drawn. E. S. Potter." Not much seems to be known of the Monk's Head Press. Ransom gives Edwin S. Potter as the printer, and dates of activity from 1901-1902, listing this as the first book of the press. He also identifies the author as Brother Geiselbrecht, an Augustinian monk, ca. 1320. Surprisingly rare. .
