NA. Condition: Good. Tin box shaped like a miniature book intended for discarded razor blades, with a capacity of ten. N.d., circa 1920, perhaps a bit earlier. The box measures not quite 5 by 5 cm, and is 2.5 cm thick, with a long slot on top to slip down the spent blades. Writing on the bottom indicates for Gem Blades and instructs that the box should be discarded when filled. Mercifully for us, this tin was not filled nor obviously, discarded. The sides have fine lines to simulate the look of pages, and the red spine has four lines meant to suggest spine bands. Some rust and wear, with the typical loss of surface paint that characterizes most antique tin. Still a highly unusual survival -- we have never seen a faux book for razor blades before.
