Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A scarce tome in the Pall Mall Military Series. Rather an intriguing association of the author, a German cavalry officer, the translator Major G.T.M. Bridges of the 4th. Royal Irish Dragoon Guards with a preface written by none other than General Sir John French who within four years would be leading the British Expeditionary Force. This is a very decent copy indeed. Frontispiece with tissue guard of Bernhardi and a very clean, tight text. Clean red boards with gilt titles. The only defects are that the spine is a little faded compared to the boards and there is a small scuff mark about half way up and there is a retailer's stamp at the foot of the title page.
