About the book: This book is dedicated to: An Amer…ican Soldier whose eyes were as blue as the summer skies and whose heart was as big as his native Texas, Major Dave Culberson -- who gave his life during World War II, down among the hedgerows of Normandy, for America -- as it is and for future generations -- with the courage and faith to perpetuate Democracy. Byron Burk Gentry (October 20, 1913 â" February 10, 1992) was a professional American football guard in the National Football League. He played three seasons for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gentry played college football at the University of Southern California where he was also a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. At USC, he played on the 1931 and 1932 Rose Bowl championship teams. He was a decorated soldier, rising to the rank of Capitan, and serving as an intelligence officer in World War II. He later was a state and national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Gentry's post-football career was in the law and he was city attorney of Pasadena, California for sixteen years. He was also a published writer and poet. -- Wikipedia. . . . . . . . . . . Donald M. Yena (Born 1933) is active/lives in United States. Donald Yena is known for Western painting and illustration. Donald M. Yena is a professional western artist. My goal has always been to produce good, solid, traditional art, Yena says. Western art is ours. It is uniquely American. Its rugged, often haunting and many times humorous. In Yena's case precise in every detail. Yena often paints from his museum quality collection for absolute accuracy and detail. He is recognized by many today as an historian with brush and palette, having received many accolades from the state and county. As an illustrator his works appearing in historically important books established Yena early on as an important Texas artist. His works are represented in important private collections and have been honored with major exhibits in prestigious banks and museums including the Witte in San Antonio. -- askART dot com.
