New Edition. 612pp. A lovely copy of this novel by George Eliot, bound in red cloth boards with gilt embossed vignette to the front board and lettering to the spine. A little fading tot he spine strip with some rubbing and a few niks with associated fraying to the head and tail of the spine where the cloth has been turned in. Former split of 3.5 cm to the outer rear hinge, now repaired. Light bumps to two corners with all corner being slightly rounded. There are a couple of light soil marks to the rear board. Previous owners ink name inscription to the front end paper dated 1897 and a previous owners bokplate to the front paste down - a little rubbed and with an additiaonl ink name inscription to the tail of it. Addtiional old paper stamp labels are alos used to over over the froner owners details on the half title page. There is some splitting to the front inner hinge though the front board remains firmly attached. The textblock is clean and tight. A very good copy.
