    8Vo, Hardcover. Condition: Acceptable. 402pp. Brown leather boards, gilt golden embossed graphic on front board. Text is clean on unmarked, uncreased pages. Textblock is bowed with bumped corners. Boards have separated from original hinge at spine and are held on by binding tape. A number of pages at beginning and end of book have come loose from binding. Heavy foxing, blush and spottage throughout.

Black and white illustrations and fold out charts throughout. Latin for "reports of the scholars" Acta Eruditorum was the first scientific journal published in Germany from 1682 to 1782. It was founded in 1682 in Leipzig by Otto Mencke, published by Johann Friedrich Gleditsch, and patterned after the French Journal Des Savants and Italian Giornale De'Letterati. Acta Eruditorum was a monthly publication, edited in Latin language and contained excerpts from new writings, reviews, small essays and notes. Most of them were devoted to the natural sciences and mathematics. This volume discusses the scientific works of Johanni Georgio IV and Friderico Augusto. Fine leather. New end pages. Moderate foxing to pages. Minor damp stains around front of interior. Slight chipping to page edges in rear. Moderate discoloration to pages. Overall, a well-restored volume in impeccable condition.
