Religiöse Architektur prägt aber ebenso die Landschaft. Zeugnis hiervon geben Wegkreuze, Kapellen, Klöster, Kirchen und Tempel entlang intakter alter Handelswege und geographisch relevanter Verbindungsachsen. In den Beiträgen des Bandes werden einzelne Beispiele für die Wechselwirkungen zwischen Religion und Landschaft und kulturgeschichtliche Zusammenhänge dargestellt.
