He was aboard the U-505 when it was captured by the U.S. Navy in 1944, the first enemy vessel captured at sea since the War of 1812. Goebeler later moved to the Chicago area and became a tour guide for the U-505 at the Museum of Science and Industry. The first edition of U-Boat Command And The Battle Of The Atlantic by Jak Mallmann Showell, signed by two German Kriegsmarine sailors. (illustrator). Signed.
