The first book features an engraved frontispiece (portrait of Ernst Rüdiger Graf von Starhemberg, the city's defender during the siege), the second contains a folding copperplate depicting the siege, the third is supplemented with a large fold…ing copperplate depicting the Battle of Parkany in 1683. Fraktur typeface; two title pages feature a woodcut device, other pages are decorated with headpieces, tailpieces and initials. Joseph, darunter eine kleine Stadtansicht von Wien.- Johann Peter van Ghelen (Wien 1673 - 1754) studierte an der philosophischen Fakultät der Universität Wien (Institution) und reiste 1692 nach Brüssel, um dort eine Buchhändlerlehre zu absolvieren. Wieder nach Wien zurückgekehrt, arbeitete er in der Firma des Vaters. Nach dem Tod des Vaters im Jahr 1721 übernahm J. P. van Ghelen die Buchhandlung und die Druckerei, die zu den führenden Firmen Wiens zählte. Noch 1721 erwarb Ghelen von seinem Konkurrenten auf dem Zeitungsmarkt, Johann Baptist Schönwetter, das Druckprivileg für das "Wienerische Diarium" (die spätere "Wiener Zeitung").- Durchgehend etw. gebräunt und stellenweise braun- oder fingerfleckig.
