Gil North (Geoffrey Horne,1916-88), was a British author of detective stories. His novels about Sergeant Cluff, based in Yorkshire where he was born, were made into a television series 'Cluff', by the BBC in the 1960s. A scarce book.

The book is undated, but Worldcat lists other works printed by Aréas in the period 1885-1896. Very slightly frayed at edges, spine slightly worn, wanting a short portion at foot, but actually a very good copy.
