    Softcover. Condition: Very good. [102 p.]. 26x33 cm. Black photo album held together with screws. 131 b&w photos with captions in white. 10 maps, incl. one hand-drawn of cross-Canada train journey. Other clippings, menus, etc. Some tears in edges. Most photos in good condition, although the first one in the book is creased. Some have been removed. The photographer took pictures of buildings in Aylmer, farm scenes, and a New York Central Railroad train before recording his travels. A few military photos at front, along with the Xmas 1944 menu from the R.C.A.F. Flight Engineers School in Aylmer. Photo of Squadron Leader G. A. Adams and instructors. Copy of The Aylmer Airman from Aug. 11, 1944 with bios of S/L Adams and S/L Harry Edward Bishop. Travels to Toronto, St. Thomas, London, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Detroit, Chicago, train across Canada, Vancouver, Banff, Christmas back in Aylmer. Inside the rear cover is stapled the owner's furlough form for travel in the U.S.A., issued at Aylmer in January 1945. According to this pass, Gilbert was from Great Britain. He may be Edgar Dinely Prior Gilbert, who died in September 1999 in London, UK.
