The first three volumes of the monumental eight volume Churchill biography published between 1966 and 1988. The first two volumes of the three are Presentation copies from Winston Churchill's youngest daughter, Mary Soames (1922-2014), to her godson, Andrew Calvocoressi (1953-), with affectionate inscription from Soames and also signed by Calvocoressi. All first editions, first printing, with the slightly chipped dust-jackets, with that of vol I missing a small portion at the foot of the spine on the jacket. Rear cloth board of vol I also scoured by dampness with some surface removal and staining to inside of the jacket. Other two vols in excellent and clean condition both inside and outside. Mary Soames was the youngest of the five children of Winston Churchill and his wife Clementine. Andrew Calvocoressi is the youngest son of Ion Calvocoressi (1919-2007), British army officer and stockbroker, who moved with his family to Westerham, Kent, in 1950. Over the following years his family became friendly with the Churchill family who lived nearby at Chartwell. First Edition, first printing, in the excellent and unclipped dust-jacket.
