Gilberte Schmit - Painter and interior designer, born June 16, 1907 in Bordeaux and died August 18, 2001 in Tournan en Brie. Graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts. Member of the National Society of Fine Arts. Member of the National Society of Fine Arts, the Salon of French Artists, the Salon of Independents, the Salon of Women Painters and Sculptors, she appears at the annual exhibitions of this group where her works are noticed by the critics. Gilberte Schmit holds the Institute Prize, the Cottet Prize, the Grand Prize of the Académie des Hespérides and the General Council of Seine et Marne. Gilberte Schmitt does private exhibitions in Paris, in the provinces and abroad. Some of his paintings and his blood were bought by the city of Paris, the State, the former President of the Republic Valéry Giscard D'Estaing and the King of Saudi Arabia Mr. Ibn Saoud in the early 1950s.
