The red and black title-page is a little darkened and the lower right corner is chipped, slightly affecting the border and text; in addition the portrait frontispiece is missing; even so the contents are otherwise complete and very tidy, just age toned and tanned. Moreover, not from a library so no such stamps or labels. Neither are there any pen-marks or inscriptions, save the former owner's stamp and name at the endpaper: George H. Radford (very possibly the Liberal politician: Sir George Heynes Radford). Size: 8vo (143mm x 90mm); collation: pp. [6], 146. Thus a scarce book about the leader of the Nepalese revolt against Habsburg Spain, Masaniello, who died in 1647; and despite the title-page chip and lack of a frontispiece, still a very good copy indeed. Die Chronik der "La rivoluzioni di Napoli" erzählt nach Berichten des biographisch nicht nachweisbaren Augenzeugen Alessandro Giraffi, erschien zuerst 1647. - Der Fischer und Obstverkäufer Masaniello (1620-1647; eigentlich Tommaso Aniello d`Amalfi) war Anführer eines Volksauftands in Neapel im Jahre 1647, für 10 Tage übernahm er die Macht in der Stadt, bevor er in einen Hinterhalt gelockt und erschossen wurde. Bis heute wird Masaniello in Neapel als "Stadtheiliger" verehrt. - N.a.V., nur vereinzelt leicht braunfleckig, schönes dekorativ gebundenes Exemplar. Sprache: italienisch.
