Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. MATLAB Control System Design: Build Robust Controllers and Analyze Stability, Response and Performance is a complete, practice-focused guide for understanding, designing, and implementing modern control systems using MATLAB and Simulink. This book takes you from the foundational principles of control theory to advanced, real-world applications, all through clear explanations and hands-on examples. You start by building a strong understanding of dynamic systems, mathematical modeling, and time-domain behavior before moving confidently into stability analysis, frequency response techniques, and classical controller design. Concepts such as transfer functions, state-space models, Root Locus, Bode plots, and PID controllers are explained carefully, with constant emphasis on how they are applied in MATLAB rather than treated as abstract theory. As you progress, the book guides you through compensator design, state-space control, observers, and optimal control methods such as LQR and Kalman filtering. Digital control and discrete-time implementation are covered in depth, helping you understand sampling, discretization, and z-domain analysis using practical MATLAB workflows. The final chapters introduce robust control concepts, optimization-based performance tuning, and real-time control applications, including hardware-oriented examples and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation scenarios.Throughout the book, every major idea is reinforced with clear MATLAB scripts, Simulink modeling guidance, and realistic engineering case studies such as DC motor control, inverted pendulum stabilization, and cruise control systems. The appendices provide quick references, troubleshooting guidance, formula sheets, and reusable templates that make this book a long-term desk reference for both study and professional work.Whether you are a student learning control systems for the first time, an engineer refining your design skills, or a practitioner who wants to confidently use MATLAB for analysis and controller development, this book equips you with both understanding and execution skills. If you want to design controllers that work reliably, analyze system behavior with confidence, and translate control theory into practical MATLAB solutions, this book belongs in your library. Start building robust, high-performance control systems today. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

In good condition, lightly aged. Addressed to 'Eric Dingwall Esq | 19 Grange Court | Grange Rd | Cambridge'. Written in a neat close hand. She gives details of a 1744 Italian translation of Richardson's Pamela she has found of a Parisian catalogue of 1774: 'Translator's name not given'. She adds: 'Pamela was v. popular in Italy in the second half of the 18th. century. It inspired two of Goldoni's comedies Pamela Fanciulla and Pamela Maritata'. In a postscript she explains that she brought the present postcard 'into the U[niversity]. L[ibrary]. on Saturday, but was surprised in not finding you there'.
