Il ms. riguarda le lezioni tenute dal professore Giulio Capone nel Pubblico Ginnasio Vespertino Partenopeo; Capone, nativo di Otranto, visse a Napoli dove compì studi di teologia e diritto e conseguì il dottorato nel 1635. La cattedra vespertina di diritto civile gli fu assegnata nel 1660. Infine all'ultima ca bca si trova una nota di possesso ms. "Ego Antonius Ferrone", Terre Torelle, Provincia Principato Ultra. Prima edizione di questo trattato del giurista napoletano (di orientamento filocuriale e sostenitore di una interpretazione estensiva delle prerogative giurisdizionali ecclesiastiche) che pochi anni prima era tra l'altro posto in arresto insieme a cento studenti per aver clamorosamente trasgredito i divieti di insegnamento extra universitario con le sue lezioni private affollatissime.
