Celebre guida per gli accorrenti a queste acque composta dal chirurgo aostano e medico a Courmayeur durante la stagione balnearia Giovanni Antonio Giusta, qui proposta in un fresco esemplare dell'edizione originale, corredata delle due tavole litografiche impresse da Doyen: la prima una veduta di Courmayeur con sfondo del Monte Bianco e Dente del Gigante, e la seconda un animato scorcio del nuovo edificio dei Bagni di Pré-Saint-Didier. Notizie storiche e geografiche sulle località accompagnano dettagliate informazioni sulle qualità chimico-fisiche e terapeutiche delle acque e il corretto regime sanitario da osservarsi - l'autore raccomanda la temperanza di fronte all lusso di squisite vivande proposte dagli albergatori locali; segue la parte più propriamente turistica della guida, con informazioni sugli alberghi, itinerari per le passeggiate ed escursioni (l'ultima Da Courmayeur alla Sommità del Monte Bianco offre lo spunto per un excursus dei tentativi di ascensione dal versante italiano, una lode delle guide locali e l'anticipazione dei progetti di queste per l'anno in corso: una nuova salita e la costruzione di alcune capanne in quota), e infine le tariffe e il Regolamento delle Guide di Courmayeur, approvato nel 1868.
