La lotta per l'introduzione delle foraggiere nell'avvicendamento, presentata fin dall'eta' napoleonica come il principale obbiettivo tecnico produttivo dell'agricoltura modenese, continuo' nel periodo della Restaurazione per opera di una nuova generazione di agronomi, quali il Giusti, il Codeluppi, il Celi, i quali difesero e ribadirono i risultati conoscitivi raggiunti agli inizi del secolo (Cfr.
